[In the left margin] William Sandefur Will In the Name of God Amen William Sandefur of Hampton County being sick and weak in Body but of sound Mind and Memory thanks be to Almighty God and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die I do make Constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament revoking all Wills heretofore made by me Imprimis: My Soul I Resign to God that gave it hoping for Pardon and Remission of all my sins through the Merits & Meditations of Jesus Christ. Item: My Body I Resign to the Earth from whence it was taken to be Decently Buried by my Executrix hereafter Mentioned Item: I give & Bequeath to my son Hill Sandefur two hundred and twenty five acres of land at the upper end of my land Joining on Vicks Land to begin at the End Causeway on the main Road to run an East Course to the outside Line to include the said Quantity and to his Heirs for ever Item: I give & Bequeath to my Son Samuel Sandefur two hundred & twenty five acres Land Joining to the former beginning on the South side of the Creek running South to include the said Quantity Joining Dawsons Line and to his Heirs forever Item: I give & Bequeath to my Son William Sandefur my Plantation and all the remainder of my land and to his Heirs forever Item: It is my Will that if Either of my sons should die before the age of twenty one years of age or without Lawful Issue then the deced Sons land to descend to the Child that my Wife is now Child with provided it be a Son Item: It is my Will that my Wife should have the benefit of all the timber and Lightwood on all my land during her Widowhood and likewise the use and benefit of all the rest of my Estate of what nature or kind so ever during her life or Widowhood and after her decease or Day of Marriage to be Equally divided amongst all my Children according to Law ~ ``` 182 Item: I do appoint my well beloved wife Mary Sandefur sole and Soul Executrix of this my Last will and Testament to Witness whereof I have set my Hand and Seal the 26 Day of May 1755 Signed sealed and Declared in Presence William Sandefur (LS) Joseph Jones Richard + Pond (his mark) Martha X Pond (her mark) Ruth + Sweeney (her mark) At a Court held for the County of Southampton the 13th Day of November 1755 This Will was Presented in Court by Mary Sandefur the Executrix therein named Proved by the Oaths of Richard Pond and Martha Pond two of the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded and on the Motion of the said Executrix who made Oath According to Law Certificate was Granted her for obtaining a Probate of the same in due form Giving security where upon &c R.
